11. Copyright & Trademark Policy
Last updated: —
Overview
GateScoop respects intellectual property rights. This policy explains ownership of content on the platform and how we handle copyright and trademark issues.
Your Content Ownership
You Retain Ownership: You own the copyright to content you create and post on GateScoop, including reports, questions, answers, posts, comments, text, and images you upload.
License You Grant Us: By posting content, you grant GateScoop a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to display your content on the platform, distribute it to other users, make copies for backup and caching, and modify for technical requirements (e.g., resizing images). This license ends when you delete your content or account, except for content others have shared or interacted with.
Platform Intellectual Property
Our Trademarks: The following are trademarks of GateScoop: the "GateScoop" name and logo, platform design and visual elements, and unique features and functionality. You may not use our trademarks without permission for commercial purposes or in a way that suggests endorsement.
Our Copyrights: The following are protected by copyright: platform source code and software, user interface and design, documentation and help content, and marketing materials.
Respecting Others' Rights
When posting content, you must:
Only Post What You Have Rights To: Content you created yourself, content you have permission to share, content in the public domain, or content used under fair use (with appropriate attribution).
Give Credit: When sharing content inspired by or based on others' work, credit the original creator, link to the source when possible, indicate if you've made modifications, and respect any usage restrictions.
Copyright Infringement
If Your Content is Stolen: If someone has posted your copyrighted content without permission, you can file a DMCA takedown notice. See our DMCA Policy for details.
If You're Accused: If your content is removed due to a copyright claim and you believe it was removed in error, you can file a counter-notice as described in our DMCA Policy.
Fair Use
Fair use is a legal doctrine that allows limited use of copyrighted material without permission for purposes such as education and teaching, commentary and criticism, news reporting, and transformative works. Whether use is "fair" depends on several factors and is determined case-by-case. When in doubt, seek permission or legal advice.
Public Domain & Creative Commons
Public Domain: Content in the public domain (no longer under copyright) can be freely used. This includes most works published before 1928 in the US.
Creative Commons: Some creators license their work under Creative Commons, which allows certain uses. Always check the specific license terms and give proper attribution.
Trademark Usage
When using others' trademarks: Don't use them in a way that suggests endorsement, don't use them in your username or business name. Descriptive or nominative fair use is generally allowed. When in doubt, seek permission.
Reporting Violations
If you see content that violates intellectual property rights, please report it to: jefferyph21@gmail.com
12. Affiliate & Advertising Disclosure
Last updated: September 27, 2026
How GateScoop Makes Money
GateScoop is free to use. To help keep it running, some links in the app — mainly in GateScoop Travel, plus occasional travel picks — are affiliate links. If you tap one and book or buy something, we may earn a commission. This never changes the price you pay.
Our Travel Partners
Affiliate links are provided through the Travelpayouts affiliate network and currently include:
- •Flights — Aviasales
- •Hotels — Hotellook
- •Rental cars — Rentalcars.com
- •Airport transfers — Kiwitaxi
- •Tours and experiences — GetYourGuide
- •Travel insurance — EKTA
- •Airport parking — Airport Parking Reservations
- •Airport lounges — DragonPass
These are independent third parties. We do not operate them and we are not responsible for their pricing, availability, service, or their own privacy and cookie practices. Any booking you make is made directly with the partner and is governed by their terms.
How Affiliate Tracking Works
When you tap an affiliate link, it carries a partner identifier that tells the partner your visit came from GateScoop. The partner may also set its own cookie or similar technology so a booking made shortly afterwards can be credited to us. This is standard affiliate tracking.
Affiliate tracking is not targeted advertising. It does not use your GateScoop account, your saved airports, your location, or anything you post in the community, and it does not follow you around the web with ads.
What We Don't Do
- •We do NOT sell your personal information
- •We do NOT share your GateScoop account or activity with affiliate partners
- •We do NOT let affiliate scripts choose which offers you are shown
- •We do NOT hide that a link is monetized
Editorial Independence
Travel picks are chosen by hand. We recommend tools and services we believe are genuinely useful to travelers, and a partner's commission rate does not decide whether it appears in the app. Community reports, airport information, and wait times are never influenced by any affiliate relationship.
No Travel Advice
Nothing in GateScoop Travel is advice. We are not a travel agency and we do not book, hold, or manage your reservation on your behalf. Always review the partner's own terms, cancellation rules, and coverage details before you buy.
Your Choices
- •Simply don't use the affiliate links — the rest of GateScoop works exactly the same
- •Block third-party cookies in your browser to limit affiliate tracking
- •Clear cookies after a booking to remove stored partner identifiers
